X-Haul department will be involved in the project. X-Haul, as part of ALU Italia, operates in Vimercate (MB). Its mission is, inside the Nokia Mobile Network business unit, to develop and improve the Nokia Microwave Mobile Backhaul portfolio. X-Haul Microwave Backhaul portfolio is a key component in the Nokia end-to-end mobile backhaul solution, which provides the flexibility, scale and operational simplicity to lower the total cost of ownership and simultaneously enhance the mobile service experience.
The Nokia Packet Microwave Mobile Backhaul solution helps in maximizing the network’s performance by enabling rapid deployment of scalable backhaul to cell sites. The Nokia solution offers a portfolio of microwave products to address the backhaul needs of 2G, 3G, and LTE macro cells and 3G, LTE, and Wi-Fi® small cells. Radio spectrum is efficiently exploited using innovative techniques to maximize payload capacity to support the evolution to LTE and heterogeneous networks. Unique, common radio support for indoor and outdoor deployments enhances savings potential. Current portfolio includes equipment working in frequency bands from 4 to 86 GHz. Nokia Mobile Networks is the undisputed #1 in the mobile networks ecosystem, leading position in 4G, and a leading position in the next generation of mobile infrastructure technologies, characterized by 5G, from their inception. In this contest, Nokia Microwave solution is #1 in Worldwide Packed Microwave, #1 in Worldwide full indoor solution, #1 in north America Microwave market and #4 in Worldwide Microwave globally.
Main Tasks in the Project
ALU-I is leading WP1 with defining specifications and architecture of radio solutions, leading WP5 with responsibility for building a proof of concept demo. ALU-I contributes in WP6 with the standardization and regulation aspects, leading the specific task in this WP.
